Does it matter what age I am?
No, we welcome students of all ages (16+) and all levels of experience.
Can I come visit the Academy?
Yes of course, we encourage you to visit the premises and to meet your future trainers. You will be able to get a feel for our learning environment and see other students in action. We also will be available to help answer any questions that you may have. Just kindly phone or email us beforehand to schedule an appointment.
I am a foreigner - will you accept me as a student?
Yes we accept students from across the globe, as far as South America, Asia, Australia, Africa and North America. If you want to become a barber then we are happy to train you. The only requirement is that you speak enough english to understand our teachers.
Can you help me get work once I’ve finished the course?
Yes, we help our graduates in several ways to find a job. We have working relationships with a number of top London barbers who are always looking to employ fresh talent, and we are happy to reach out to them on your behalf. We also add graduates to our jobs mailing list to inform them of new opportunities immediately. And finally we provide each student with a Job Help packet that provides tips to finding a job, creating a CV, and being employable.
Do I get a certificate upon course completion?
Yes, students receive a diploma from the London School of Barbering upon completion of your course. If you are taking an NVQ course, then you will get an NVQ Level 2 in Barbering certificate.
When are you open?
5 days a week, Monday to Friday. We are closed on bank holiday Mondays and over the Christmas holiday season.
I am 30 years old and considering barbering. Am I too old?
Not at all. We have a long list of individuals who have started a successful barbering career well into their 30’s, 40’s and even their 50’s. As long as you are committed to putting in the time to learning the necessary skills, then you will be well-equipped to succeed.
What are the license requirements to legally work in London as a barber? Do my hours from the U.S. transfer?
Each state has its own process to recognise hours earned overseas. We’ve had a strong track record of Americans training with us and receiving reciprocity for their hours. The process typically entails the learner completing a form for their state board after training with LSB, and LSB provides a letter of reference confirming their hours and modules covered.
