LSB Graduate Stories – Luke
Luke Benicky booked himself onto a Diploma in Barbering course at London School of barbering whilst still working as manager of McDonald’s in Sydney, Australia. He made the huge leap of faith and now 2 years later, he owns, in his own words, ‘arguably the best looking barbershop in Australia.’.
‘Before London School of Barbering I had had no formal training in cutting hair at all, but was extremely keen on barbering. I was cutting all of my mates’ hair in my bathroom at home. I chose LSB because of the prestigious reputation it had. It was a huge leap of faith for me and by far one of the most uncertain times of my life. It meant quitting my job and flying to another country to do a course I wasn’t even sure of, which was an extremely frightening prospect at the age of 20. It turned out to be the best decision of my life to pursue barbering – 2 years later and now I’m 23 and own my own barbershop in Australia. LSB was an absolute blast. It’s an extremely challenging course and not for the faint-hearted, it will bring out the best in you and push you to your limits. I strongly believe it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. In my opinion, the world’s leading experts are equipping students with all the skills a barber would need. I am forever grateful to LSB an would love to go back to London to visit the school one day.’
