The free haircut service should be renamed free humiliation service. Absolutely unprofessional behaviour from both staff and students. Insults come as a package deal with the haircut apparently. You pay for the haircut with your dignity.EDIT: How strange that when I formally lodged a complaint with the school I received zero response. Yet a poor Google review gets responded to in under an hour!

Good place to get a haircut either free or by paying. I am truly impressed by the eye for detail by the tutors and talent of trainees in giving a hair cut. It was worth visiting and surely recommend people to visit so that you get a haircut for free or very less price and the trainees get the chance to practice over their skills....

Ive just finished the NVQ level 2 and am super excited to start with level 3 next week. Im very happy and glad with my decision to come from India and study barbering at LSB. I can honestly say that this was the best decision Ive ever made! Everyone at LSB has been amazing! Alex the manager has always been very welcoming helpful and kind. Ollie and Ella have been very helpful as well. The educators Yani Charollete Noel Jake Filipe Pan all the educators actually are superb very encouraging and with you throughout guiding you and pushing you to do better. They share their knowledge with you wholeheartedly and genuinely want to see you succeed. They are really funny as well 😁 and the atmosphere in the academy has always been fun positive and uplifting. I will always be very grateful to all the educators at LSB they are lovely people!! I will work hard and I hope to make them proud of me one day. Thank you all for everything. God bless you.

Just finished the level 2 9 week course. It’s intense but I’ve gone from having never cut hair before and now I can go out and be a barber. The staff at the Farringdon shop are all amazing Educators Apprentices and the Shop manager all.

I recently attended the level 3 masters. The academy offers extensive access to clients to aid your learning which is much better than using a training head & with careful planning you can ensure you take the right haircuts you need not just for the Itec but if there are any areas you wish to work on specifically which for me was skin fading as this was not a fashion when I studied level 2 10+years ago. Our educator Pan works to a high standard and has a great way of delivering and sharing his knowledge. Unfortunately during the course we had 3 days covered by a lady named Bee who is the lead educator unfortunately her educator skills lack somewhat and I learnt little to nothing the days she was teaching. She would recut work with no explanation do demo haircuts lasting 2 hours - this to me highlights the lack of skill in her as an educator as the entire class was bored stupid and there was little interaction relevant to barbering during this time. When students were wet shaving etc within the academy she was stood outside the academy talking. Unfortunately there were vast differences in the way the educators go about cutting hair and shaving what one would say is not the way- the other would say is the way therefore I question this and this was very confusing to less experienced students. We also had another LSB educator named Alex attend our class to also gain his level 3 which was great as he shared some really helpful techniques when wet shaving and I watched him working when I didn’t have a client etc. He spent a lot of time explaining the true guards and fake guards as I have never used the fake guards- I assumed a 1.5 anything was the same but indeed they are not. That said the lessons with Pan were to a very high standard with lots of information and learning shared- he breaks down the techniques and explains them and continues to explain until you understand which for me was brilliant. I did enjoy my time at LSB however when you work out what you pay per day to be there plus travel costs and loss of earnings- I am disappointed with the 3 days in the first week. I did raise my concerns to Pan who went above and beyond to rectify and ensure I learnt to skin fade to a good standard and listened to my concerns - when discussing amendments to haircuts he was careful not to take over and again broke down into detail the how’s why’s and where’s etc. Thank you LSB & Pan

Ive been getting haircuts at LSB for years and can say thay Brioni and Felipe are 10/10 instructors and barbers their attention to detail active supervision and customer interaction are unparalleled. On the other hand I had today a disastruous haircut (i.e. Senior Barber Trainee haircut) from Luke (student) and Jason (supervisor) and my experience was extremelly poor Id give it 0/5 stars. Specifically Luke did not pay enough attention to what I initially asked and didnt make sure he really understood the type of haircut that I asked for even though I very specifically mentioned what I wanted. I have the same haircut for years and I know when someone does a good job or not. He also focused way too much on individual areas rather than seeing the bigger picture - which was that the way he was cutting was not what I asked for and didnt suit the shape of my head. He also didnt reflect at all the standard expected from an almost-qualified senior barber which is surprising. This standard can be potentially expected from a student but Jason utterly dissapointed as he superficially listened to what I asked for at the beginning and only checked the haircut midway as I had to ask Luke to call him as the haircut was going badly. Jason didnt make sure that Luke understood the haircut or that he had the necessry skills/approach to perform it and the fact that he didnt pay any attention throughout led to a very poor haircut because Luke already cut too much in certain areas and it was the case of too little too late. Basically it was not a lack of skill but a lack of will from Jasons side. Conclusion: chances of getting a very good haircut are high overall quite impressed with LSB. Quality of supervision needs to be more uniform to avoid bad haircuts.

Just had probably one of the worse haircut experience in London. The haircut technique was alright to be fair and it wasn’t the worse but I felt I was physically assaulted. I was assigned to a student who was about to graduate from the programme. He was somewhat stressed out when he started but we still had a rather decent introduction. It all started when he scratched deeply into my scalp as he was parting my hair with a comb. When he wanted to reach for an angle he rested his elbow on my shoulder and stretched my neck out. He dried my hair with max heat directly on my scalp and you can just imagine how unpleasant that was. At one point I tried to grimace to show my discomfort but obviously that got ignored. I did not want to speak out as he was doing his final ‘exam’ haircut and it would be mean of me to identify who he was. But the academy should look into this issue and emphasise the importance of decency in their students...
